Grand Opening Ceremony Held for New Jetty Park Camp Store

PORT CANAVERAL, FL – July 31, 2025 – Port Canaveral officials joined community leaders for a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official grand opening of a new camp store for the Port’s Jetty Park campground.  The new store will be accessible to campground guests, as well as visitors to the Jetty Park day park, beach and fishing pier. 

“The new camp store is the first in a series of improvement projects that we’re initiating to transform the park and enhance its appeal as a recreational resource for our local community as well as the many guests who visit it every year,” stated Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO.

More than a year in planning and construction, the new camp store features 6,200 square feet of air-conditioned space to offer a variety of products, souvenirs, and vacation essentials to help create a fun and memorable visit for campground and day park guests. Total investment in the new camp store was $2.7 million, creating the center point for Jetty Park which is one of Central Florida’s most popular recreation facilities that attracts more than 400,000 visitors annually.

Enhancements to Jetty Park are part of the Port Canaveral Advantage, a five-year $500 million capital improvements program that is elevating the guest experience across all facets of the Port’s operations.

Features of the new camp store include a cozy campers lounge, ideal for relaxing, recharging and connecting with amenities that include complimentary coffee, charging stations, books and board games, and a kid-friendly recreation corner.  A wide variety of items, from RV and camping supplies, beach necessities like towels and sunscreen, T-shirts and apparel to souvenirs, food, snacks and ice cream, are available for sale.

Open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM (Friday until 7 PM), the camp store marks the first phase of planned upgrades at Jetty Park.  Future improvements include enhanced guest cabins, a new dog park, pickleball courts, updated bathhouses, improved roadways and lighting, an expanded playground, and a food truck pavilion.
