Port Canaveral at condition 'X-RAY' as Hurricane Dorian nears Florida

Port Canaveral, FL – The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) has set Hurricane Condition "X-RAY" for Port Canaveral. Sustained gale-force winds are predicted within 48 hours.

Port Canaveral is conducting only limited operations at this time.

The Port remains open to all commercial traffic. Oceangoing vessels greater than 500 gross tons, including oceangoing tugs and barges greater than 500 gross tons, already in port or arriving during Hurricane Condition X-RAY shall continue with preparations and safety depart the Port before the setting of Hurricane Condition ZULU, issued when sustained gale-force winds are predicted within 12 hours.

Please ensure your businesses and homes are clear of debris that may become projectiles in the wind. If you live in an evacuation zone, a mobile or manufactured home, or in a flood-prone area, or you simply do not feel safe, please evacuate in a timely manner. Don't wait and don't forget to take your disaster supply kit.
