Port Canaveral COVID-19 Update

3/16/2020

As we work with our cruise partners to accommodate their berthing needs, there are currently six cruise ships at lay berth at Port Canaveral with a seventh ship anchored off-shore.  These are Disney, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival cruise ships, which are generally homeported at Port Canaveral, and none of the vessels has passengers on board.

Area residents may see cruise ships entering and leaving the Port every few days. The cruise lines plan to cycle vessels from berth to off-shore allowing each ship to take on provisions while at berth.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is restricting all crewmember movements while vessels are docked in Port Canaveral.  All crewmembers, except U.S. citizens, are to be denied shore leave and remain onboard the vessel.

We are continuing to work closely with our cruise partners as ships are repositioned here and at other ports. While work continues at Cruise Terminal 3, Port Canaveral’s newest terminal now under construction, the berth is substantially complete and able to accept a vessel by week’s end, if necessary.
