Port Canaveral, FL – July 13, 2023 - The Canaveral Port Authority is expecting boat trailer parking at Port Canaveral will be in high demand again during the 2023 Federal Atlantic Recreational Red Snapper Season – July 14-15, 2023 (Friday and Saturday) which opens at 12:01 AM on July 14th and closes at 12:01 AM on July 16th. As always, boat trailer parking at the Port’s Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps and Rodney S. Ketcham Park boat ramps is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Boaters – at all times – whether parking at these boat ramps or not — can access the ramps to launch their boat and seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.
To promote the safety and enjoyment for all, boaters are strongly advised to have a plan before arriving at Port Canaveral. Electronic signs along George King Boulevard will advise arriving boaters if trailer parking at Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps is at capacity. Once the lot is full, boaters will still be able to launch their boat in at Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps, however they will need to seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.
Boaters who drop their boat at any Port Canaveral boat ramp should ensure they have a capable operator on board their vessel to safely move and hold their vessel away from the boat ramp launching area while they seek parking for their vehicle and trailer.
In an effort to accommodate the anticipated parking demand at the Port’s boat ramps, the Canaveral Port Authority is once again offering free boat trailer parking on the front lawn of the Port’s Maritime Center (445 Challenger Road, Cape Canaveral). An electronic sign on George King Boulevard will direct boaters to the special event boat trailer parking entrance.
Please note that boaters who choose to park vehicles and trailers at the Maritime Center are responsible for their own transportation to and from the boat ramps.
