Port Canaveral, FL – March 24, 2021 - Port Canaveral is giving local students the opportunity to become young ambassadors for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. The Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners’ Junior Ambassador Program will enable students to share career opportunities at the Port and provide workforce development and community outreach. Sophomores and Juniors in Brevard County public schools, private schools and home-schoolers are eligible to apply for this program.
“We are excited to share this opportunity at Port Canaveral for Brevard students,” Commissioner Robyn Hattaway stated.  “We have worked many hours to thoughtfully design a program to reach sophomores and juniors in Brevard County.
During the school year, students in grades 10 and 11 will meet with Port leaders in such areas as cruise, cargo, recreation, hospitality and environment. The students’ final project will be a presentation that features what they’ve learned. Junior ambassadors will share their presentations with the Commission and with students at their schools.
All current COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
Applications are due by Thursday, June 3, 2021.
