Port Canaveral, FL – MSC Cruises is expanding its presence at Port Canaveral with a second ship, bringing more 7-night sailings and more short cruises to The Bahamas. The MSC Grandiosa will begin sailing from the Port in December of 2025, alongside the MSC Seashore.

Port Canaveral, FL - Port Canaveral announced its plan today to build a new cruise terminal to meet the growing demands of the cruise industry. The strategic decision to build a new multi-user cruise terminal at the Port’s existing North 8 berth provides significant cost savings, operational flexibility, and an expedited construction timeline of approximately two years to accommodate the largest ships in the world across a spectrum of brands.

Port Canaveral, FL –  The Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners once again invites Brevard County high school students to apply to become young ambassadors for Port Canaveral. Applications are now open for the 2024-2025 school year and the deadline for submittals is June 30, 2024.
The Port’s Junior Port Ambassador Program offers local students an opportunity to get to know and understand how a seaport works and the various career opportunities in the maritime industry. To be eligible for consideration for the program, the student applicant must be a junior in the 2024-2025 school year and attending a public school, private school, or homeschooling program in Brevard County.
Port Canaveral - The Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA) will offer a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor Course in Cape Canaveral , Florida on April 5-6, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, at USCG Port Canaveral, IMOC Building 640 Magellan Rd. Cape Canaveral, FL 32920. The class is free for commercial fishermen and $225.00 (including sales tax) for all others.
Port Canaveral welcomed a new addition to its landside cargo operations with the arrival of a second mobile harbor crane, marking a significant expansion in the Port’s ability to handle an increasingly diverse cargo portfolio. Standing tall at 320 feet, the Liebherr “LHM 600 evo 6” is the second mobile harbor crane acquired by the Port, joining the Liebherr LHM 600 evo 5, which was placed into service in January 2019.
Port Canaveral, FL – February 2, 2024 – Marine Towing of Tampa, LLC (MTOT) and E.N. Bisso & Son, Inc announced that they have executed and closed on an Asset Purchase Agreement to which Marine Towing of Port Canaveral, LLC (“MTPC”), acquired the Port Canaveral operations and assets associated with Bisso's acquisition of Seabulk Towing Holdings, Inc ship assist operations in Florida.
Florida’s Port Canaveral has been named the Best US Homeport for 2023 in the annual Cruise Hive Awards. It’s the fourth consecutive year the port has won the honor.
The Cruise Hive Awards have been an annual feature since 2014. Voting opened on October 1, 2023, and closed on Friday, December 22. Cruise Hive readers could each cast one vote in each of the eight categories.
The Cruise Hive Awards make the second milestone for Port Canaveral in 2023. In February 2023, the Florida Ports Council announced that the port – east of Orlando on the state’s Atlantic coast – had 4.07 million multi-day passengers in 2022. That topped Miami’s total of 4.02 million, making Port Canaveral the world’s busiest cruise port for 2022. That designation was reversed this December when PortMiami regained the title for 2023.
Port Canaveral, FL –  Port Canaveral, in collaboration with Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), will introduce six cutting-edge FPL EVolution® Level 3 fast charging stations to offer expanded opportunities to charge electric vehicles at the Port. The new stations will be installed in the Port’s Cove District parking lot offering easy access and more convenience for EV owners/operators. According to FPL, Level 3 stations, renowned as the fastest chargers available today, boost the capability to fully charge most electric vehicles within a one-hour timeframe.
