A meeting was held on September 19, 2024, to support public interest in the Coast Guard's Port Access Route Study (PARS) for the Approaches to the Port of Cape Canaveral and Vessel Transit Offshore Jacksonville, Daytona, and Canaveral, Florida. The Coast Guard discussed the PARS notice of study that was published on April 17, 2024, and next steps for public engagement. This meeting was open to the public, and the Coast Guard invited those attending to bring additional comments that support the goals of the PARS.
Port Canaveral, FL – The MV Canopée, the world’s first hybrid propulsion commercial cargo vessel made its inaugural U.S. visit to Port Canaveral. The specially designed Ro-Ro (roll on- roll off) delivered the European Service Module (ESM-3) module, which will fly on the NASA SLS Artemis-III mission to the moon for the first time since the Apollo era.

Port Canaveral, FL – Nearly 800 people lined the shoreline at Port Canaveral’s Jetty Park today to bid “Bon Voyage” to Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas as she embarked on her first revenue sailing from Port Canaveral. "The World's Biggest Wave Out" party was hosted by the Port for the local community, campground guests and beachgoers to enjoy festive, family-fun afternoon with a DJ, bubble machine, fun giveaways, and homemade ice cream and hot dogs provided by local vendors.
Port Canaveral, FL – The Canaveral Port Authority announced today Dr. Jeff Long, Ph.D. has joined the Port as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective July 15, 2024. A well-respected finance executive, Dr. Long brings to the Port 35 years of experience in finance and operational management, capital funding and debt service, strategic long-range planning, public accounting, and financial auditing.

Port Canaveral, FL – July 10, 2024 - The Canaveral Port Authority is expecting boat trailer parking at Port Canaveral will be in high demand again during the 2024 Federal Atlantic Recreational Red Snapper Season – July 12, 2024 (Friday) which opens at 12:01 AM on July 12th and closes at 12:01 AM on July 13th.  As always, boat trailer parking at the Port’s Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps and Rodney S. Ketcham Park boat ramps is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Boaters – at all times – whether parking at these boat ramps or not — can access the ramps to launch their boat and seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.
Port Canaveral, FL –  Port Canaveral has once again earned Green Marine re-certification underscoring the Port’s commitment to environmental excellence in port operations.  This was the Port’s eighth-consecutive certification by the international organization. The award was presented to the Port at the GreenTech2024 environmental conference held recently in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

John Murray, Port CEO. “This Green Marine re-certification underscores the quality of our environmental program and dedication of our team to best practices in planning, implementation and management of our efforts.”
Port Canaveral, FL – Work is progressing well on an extensive $39 million capital improvement project to rebuild Port Canaveral’s North Cargo Berth 4 (NCB4). This ambitious project included removing the existing functionally obsolete over-the-water pier, which has been out of service for nearly 10 years and replace it with a 981-foot-long multi-purpose, multi-user wharf. North Cargo Berth 4 is located next to the Port’s newly rebuilt North Cargo Berth 3 (NCB3), an 880-foot-long multi-purpose berth, which went into service in June 2023.
Port Canaveral, FL  – Skies above Port Canaveral will light up with color and sound on the evening of July 5th for the traditional fireworks celebration hosted by The Cove Merchants Association and Port Canaveral. The event is one of the hallmark celebrations of the Space Coast’s traditional Independence Day events.
 
Port Canaveral, FL – MSC Cruises is expanding its presence at Port Canaveral with a second ship, bringing more 7-night sailings and more short cruises to The Bahamas. The MSC Grandiosa will begin sailing from the Port in December of 2025, alongside the MSC Seashore.
