Disney Cruise Line's newest addition, the Disney Treasure, will make its grand debut at Port Canaveral in December 2024, marking a historic moment as it joins Disney's prestigious fleet. This highly anticipated new ship will set sail from Port Canaveral with a variety of captivating itineraries in both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. The Treasure's inaugural voyage is set for December 21, 2024.
Port Canaveral, FL – Celebrity Cruises has chosen Port Canaveral to homeport their award-winning Celebrity Equinox to expand the brand’s sailings to the Caribbean starting December 3, 2024, through April 19, 2025. Celebrity Cruises is the seventh major cruise line to choose Port Canaveral as its homeport, underscoring the Port’s status as the world’s busiest cruise Port.

Port Canaveral, FL – The Clean Canaveral liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge has completed its first barge-to-ship bunkering of a cargo vessel at Port Canaveral’s South Cargo Berth 4. JAX LNG, along with Polaris New Energy, handled the LNG refueling of the M/T Damia Desgagnés on the ship’s inaugural call to Port Canaveral.  

The asphalt/bitumen tanker Damia Desgagnés completed her discharge of cargo and then JAX LNG proceeded with Desgagnés’s first barge-to-ship bunkering of LNG. The seafarers safely transferred approximately 400 cubic meters of LNG from North America’s largest LNG bunker barge, the Clean Canaveral.
Port Canaveral, FL – The Canaveral Port Authority is expecting boat trailer parking at Port Canaveral will be in high demand again during the 2023 Federal Atlantic Recreational Red Snapper Season – July 14-15, 2023 (Friday and Saturday) which opens at 12:01 AM on July 14th and closes at 12:01 AM on July 16th.  As always, boat trailer parking at the Port’s Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps and Rodney S. Ketcham Park boat ramps is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Boaters – at all times – whether parking at these boat ramps or not — can access the ramps to launch their boat and seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.
Port Canaveral reached a historic milestone with the inaugural arrival of the Saga Welco vessel, Saga Morus, the first ship to dock and unload at the Port’s newly-renovated North Cargo Berth 3 (NCB3). The Saga Morus, carrying approximately 11,000 cubic meters of high-quality OSB plywood from Latvia, equivalent to 4,189 bundles for Kronospan USA, a renowned wood-based panels manufacturer based in Alabama. The vessel measures over 650 feet long, 160 feet high, and 105 feet wide.

Port Canaveral, FL – Port Canaveral’s newly renovated North Cargo Berth 3 (NCB3) has officially opened for business following a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring local and state government leaders along with representatives from local businesses and industry. The event celebrated the successful completion of the $48 million Port Canaveral Cargo Berth Rehabilitation and Modernization Project.

"Transforming an outdated, functionally obsolete pier into a modern multi-purpose berth required a lot of effort by many people,” stated Capt. John Murray, Port CEO. “Bringing this berth online expands our capabilities to accommodate a growing diverse cargo business portfolio.”
Port Canaveral – Royal Caribbean International has announced its new ship, Utopia of the Seas, will homeport year-round at Port Canaveral beginning July 2024. This magnificent Oasis-class ship, the first in its class to be fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), will embark on 3- and 4-day journeys to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island in The Bahamas. Utopia will join her sister ships, Wonder of the Seas and Voyager-class Adventure of the Seas when she arrives next year, establishing Port Canaveral as the homeport for two of the world’s largest three ships.
Heidelberg Materials North America has completed an ambitious $24 million expansion of its Port Canaveral slag plant and terminal, expanding capacities with the recent addition of an energy efficient hydraulic roller press. The new expansion, coming less than 20 years after the plant was opened, has increased grinding capacity by more than 25% and ensures the facility’s position as a state-of-the-art provider of slag for use in construction projects in Florida and the southeastern U.S.
Norwegian Cruise Lines has recently announced their decision to reposition the Norwegian Epic to Port Canaveral this winter, in response to the growing demand for Caribbean sailings. Starting from December 17, 2023, the ship will offer seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, providing guests with unforgettable experiences in these sought-after destinations.
