Port Canaveral, FL – September 7, 2022 – Port Canaveral’s Foreign Trade Zone #136 (FTZ) has expanded once again with the addition of Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) as a FTZ Operator for the receipt, storage, and distribution of jet fuel for international flights operating from the airport. Deliveries of jet fuel to MLB, solely intended for use on international flights is anticipated will average two to three truckloads per week.
Port Canaveral, FL – September 1, 2022 – Port Canaveral today released its plan for access to the Port during the launch of NASA’s Artemis I from Launch Complex 39B at the Kennedy Space Center north of the Port. The launch is currently scheduled for Saturday, September 3rd with a two-hour launch window opening at 2:17 p.m. and lasting through 4:17 p.m. Visitors hoping to watch the launch from Port Canaveral are advised that parking at the Port on launch day will be highly limited. Cruise guests, vendors and employees heading to the Port for any ship sailings that day should plan for extra driving time with higher-than-normal traffic volumes expected on all roadways in and around Port Canaveral. 
Port Canaveral, FL – August 25, 2022 – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) has awarded $1,941,285 in federal grant funding for several projects at Port Canaveral to protect the Port’s critical infrastructure from terrorism and other security threats.
Port Canaveral, FL – August 23, 2022 – Port Canaveral today released its plan for access to the Port during the launch of NASA’s Artemis 1 from Launch Complex 39B at the Kennedy Space Center north of the Port. The launch is currently scheduled for Monday, August 29th with a two-hour launch window opening at 8:33 a.m. and lasting through 10:33 a.m. 
NOAA Fisheries is proposing to modify the Seasonal Management Areas along the U.S. Atlantic East Coast to create Seasonal Speed Zones to reduce the risk of lethal collisions with endangered North Atlantic right whales. The proposed rule will modify the boundaries and seasonal timing; change vessel size to include all vessels greater than or equal to 35 ft.; and, will restrict vessels within active Seasonal Speed Zones to 10 knot maximum speed.
Port Canaveral, FL – July 6, 2022 - Port Canaveral is once again providing local students with an opportunity to become young ambassadors for the Port in the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. The Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners’ Junior Ambassador Program enables students in Brevard County to learn about career opportunities at the Port and gain understanding of workforce development and community outreach. Students who are Sophomores and Juniors in Brevard County public schools, private schools and homeschoolers are eligible to apply for this program.
Port Canaveral, FL –  The Canaveral Port Authority is expecting boat trailer parking at Port Canaveral will be in high demand again during the 2022 Federal Atlantic Recreational Red Snapper Season – July 8- 9, 2022 (Friday and Saturday) which opens at 12:01 AM on July 8th and closes at 12:01 AM on July 10th.  
Port Canaveral, FL – Skies above Port Canaveral will light up with color and sound on July 2nd for the annual “Smoke on the Water & Fire in the Sky” fireworks celebration being hosted by the Cove Merchants Association at Port Canaveral and the Canaveral Port Authority. The event at Port Canaveral is the first of three area fireworks celebrations that are the hallmark of the Space Coast’s Independence Day events - July 3rd fireworks at Cocoa Beach, followed by July 4th fireworks at Cocoa Village.  
Port Canaveral, FL – Port Canaveral today welcomed home Disney Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Wish. The long-awaited addition to the Port Canaveral based Disney fleet arrived before dawn this morning escorted by a flotilla of Port-based tugboats and the Port Canaveral Fire Rescue Fireboat 2 providing the traditional water cannon salute.
Port Canaveral, FL – Port Canaveral today released its plan for public access to the Port to view the arrival of Disney Cruise Line’s new cruise ship, the Disney Wish, which is scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral early Monday morning, June 20th to Cruise Terminal 8 (CT8). Subject to change, currently the Disney Wish is expected to pass Jetty Park shortly after 5:00 a.m. and proceed to the West Turning Basin, where she will dock at CT8 by 5:40 a.m. Visitors may view the Disney Wish’s arrival and from Jetty Park, or from The Cove district.
