Pursuant to Executive Order of the Florida Governor allowing public meetings to be conducted utilizing communications media technology, the next regular meeting of the Port Commissioners will be conducted virtually via an online platform on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 9:00 A.M.

Due to this state of emergency, the general public will not be permitted into the Commission Room. However, the following alternative methods are available to receive public comment for the Port Commission meeting. Remote participation by e-mail or voicemail is encouraged. When providing public comment, please include your name and address at the beginning of your message, and identify if you are speaking about a specific agenda item or providing a general comment. All persons providing comment will follow conduct as set forth by Canaveral Port Authority Policy POL-2016-001-EXE-3, Public Participation and Conduct at Board Meetings. 

1) Written public comment can be e-mailed to <>. E-mailed comments received by 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 will be displayed and read into the record during the Port Commission meeting and become part of the permanent record of the meeting. E-mails, when read, shall not exceed three minutes. 

2) Voicemail messages may be left by calling (321) 783-7831 ext. 160. Each voicemail must be received by 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in order to be included in the Port Commission meeting. Voicemails will be played at the meeting for the first three minutes of the message. 

3) Those wishing to provide comment in person may come to the Maritime Center lobby located at 445 Challenger Road, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920. Please note that the availability of this method may be subject to change. Using this method, the commenter will speak through a microphone which will broadcast to the virtual meeting for the three minutes allotted. CDC social distancing guidelines will be followed which may require a commenter to wait outside of the Maritime Center until their turn is ready.

Commission Meetings

The Board of Commissioners holds regularly scheduled meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month unless otherwise posted. Meetings are held in the Port Authority Commission Room at Port Canaveral and are open to the public.  

Canaveral Port Authority operates in a classical business approach with Commission approval of all contracts and business dealings done each month at a business-based Commission meeting.  Staff and the CEO present prepared items for consent or special presentation, if required for approvals.  Staff is authorized by the Commission to conduct daily business under the Tariff and annual Operation and Capital budgets.
