Heidelberg Materials North America has completed an ambitious $24 million expansion of its Port Canaveral slag plant and terminal, expanding capacities with the recent addition of an energy efficient hydraulic roller press. The new expansion, coming less than 20 years after the plant was opened, has increased grinding capacity by more than 25% and ensures the facility’s position as a state-of-the-art provider of slag for use in construction projects in Florida and the southeastern U.S.
Norwegian Cruise Lines has recently announced their decision to reposition the Norwegian Epic to Port Canaveral this winter, in response to the growing demand for Caribbean sailings. Starting from December 17, 2023, the ship will offer seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, providing guests with unforgettable experiences in these sought-after destinations.
Port Canaveral, FL – For the fourth year, Port Canaveral is giving local students the opportunity to become young ambassadors for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The Canaveral Port Authority Junior Ambassador Program enables students from public high schools and private high schools within Brevard County to explore career opportunities at the Port. The program also seeks to provide workforce development to Port partners and community outreach.
PORT CANAVERAL, FL – As Carnival Cruise Line prepares to debut its new ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’ experiences on its latest addition to the fleet, Carnival Venezia, the cruise line is opening future sailings for the ship that include a series of departures from Port Canaveral, Fla. as the ship heads south for winter of 2024-25 like millions of other Northeasterners, before returning to New York in the spring of 2025.
Marella Cruises’ Discovery sailed from Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminal 5, kicking off a slate of 26 weekly sailings between now and November. The sailing of the Discovery is also Marella’s first from the United States.

Princess Cruises has announced they will homeport the Caribbean Princess at Port Canaveral beginning November 2024 to sail Caribbean itineraries for its winter season. The 3,140-passenger ship will sail 6-, 8-, and 14-day cruises out of Port Canaveral to destinations like The Bahamas, including Princess Cays® - the line’s private island resort in the Bahamas, and Eastern and Western Caribbean.
Port Canaveral’s newest homeported ship, the MSC Cruises MSC Seaside has arrived to begin sailing three and four-night cruises to The Bahamas, and seven-night sailings to Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, Belize. All sailings include stops at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
Port Canaveral, FL – February 24, 2023 – Port Canaveral today released its plan for access to the Port during the launch of NASA’s SpaceX Crew 6 Mission from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center north of the Port. The launch is currently scheduled for Monday, February 27th with the liftoff targeted for 1:45 a.m.
Port Canaveral, FL – Blue Water Industries, a leading national bulk materials supplier has entered into an agreement with Port Canaveral terminal operator Ambassador Services International (ASI) to import between 400,000 to 800,000 metric tons annually of various sized aggregate through Port Canaveral. Scheduled deliveries of the products originating in eastern Canada will arrive at Port Canaveral monthly and distributed throughout Florida and the southeastern United States for use in roadway construction projects.

“This is solid cargo business for our Port and a great business win for our partners at Ambassador,” stated Port CEO, Capt. John Murray. “Our Port’s location and ASI’s operation expansion provided Blue Water with a winning opportunity to more efficiently move product from point of origin to point of use.”
