Port Canaveral, FL  – Port Canaveral today joined with 69 port leaders representing a broad coalition of U.S. ports, state port authorities, and port associations to urge Members of Congress to provide emergency relief for America’s ports which have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Port Canaveral, FL – The Canaveral Port Authority has been awarded $908,015 in federal funding by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Port Security Grant Program (PSGP).  The grant will be augmented by a 25 percent Port match for a $1.2 million project to improve Port Canaveral’s port-wide risk prevention, threat mitigation and security response service capabilities
Fort Lauderdale, FL  —  MSC Cruises will begin sailing from Port Canaveral for the first time this Winter and offer a year-round presence, starting with the modern and glamourous MSC Seaside from November – March 2021, followed by the elegant MSC Divinia, starting at the end of March. The arrival marks a significant milestone for both MSC Cruises and Port Canaveral, as the port welcomes an MSC Cruises ship for the first time. Guests eager to sail from the sunshine state to the Caribbean and The Bahamas can experience MSC Cruises’ signature European style and enjoy increased flexibility with three-, four- and seven-night cruise options departing on Sundays and Thursdays. 
Port Canaveral, FL  – Port Canaveral Foreign Trade Zone #136 operator American Cruise-Aid Logistics, Inc. has increased its operating footprint at the Port with the opening of a new 9,500-square-foot warehouse building located adjacent to its current 15,000-square-foot facility on Atlantis Road in Cape Canaveral. The full-service freight forwarding and transportation company recently received approval for its expansion from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners.
 
Port Canaveral - As part of its resumed operations, in Spring 2021 MSC Divina will begin cruising from Port Canaveral - a new easily accessible homeport for MSC Cruises. Today, the Swiss-based cruise line also reconfirmed its March – November 2021 program, which will include two new ships currently under construction and a series of new or enriched itineraries and homeports, including a new home for MSC Divina in Central Florida.

“We’re very pleased to welcome MSC Cruises USA to Port Canaveral and excited to be the homeport for the beautiful MSC Divina,” said Port CEO Capt. John Murray.  “This exciting new partnership is an endorsement of our commitment to excellence and the investments we’ve made in our cruise operations. Port Canaveral, FL -  The July 3rd fireworks event scheduled to take place at Port Canaveral has been cancelled to comply with all federal and state recommendations to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Port Canaveral, FL  – Port Canaveral today released its plan for public access to the Port for viewing the scheduled May 27 liftoff of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, the first crewed mission launched from the U.S. since 2011. The launch is currently scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th at 4:33 p.m. from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center north of the Port.  

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in alignment with federal and state guidance to minimize the potential for virus spread, access to popular launch viewing points at Port Canaveral will be limited, and traffic in and around the Port will be controlled.

Port Canaveral COVID-19 Update
The Canaveral Port Authority cares for the safety and well-being of our employees, partners, visitors and guests. As we continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 developing situation, in line with recommendations from the CDC and the Florida Dept. of Health, and have taken numerous actions in response to guidance issued by Florida Governor DeSantis.

Port Canaveral boat ramps are open and parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All users are reminded to follow the recommendations of the CDC and FL Dept. of Health for social distancing, and the Governor’s Executive Order limiting gatherings of 10 or more people to limit potential spread and exposure to COVID-19 virus.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that in an abundance of caution, the Board of Commissioners of the Canaveral Port Authority have cancelled the Commission Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 9:00 A.M.
