INTEGRATED DISTRIBUTION SERVICES' customers save duty on stored goods for use at sea
"FTZ 136 always keeps us well-informed and serves as a liaison between our company and CBP. When there is an operational issue, FTZ 136 helps us resolve the problem." Dave Adams, President, IDS |
Integrated Distribution Services, Inc. (IDS), is the Zone's largest general-purpose warehouse. It was established at Port Canaveral in 1991.
In addition to providing general storage, this full-service warehouse and distribution company provides packing, shipping and receiving; freight forwarding; and export documentation. Its 5,000-square-foot Container Freight Station serves Customs and Border Protection (CBP) foreign trade activity by performing required inspections in and around the Port.
During 2005, IDS served 11 businesses and handled 32 different classifications of goods from 12 countries of origin. Most of the goods end up at sea aboard cruise ships.
"The Foreign Trade Zone has been a very positive influence on this business over the years," says Dave Adams, President of IDS. "It saves our customers money because they get immediate relief from duty and only pay it when they actually disburse certain goods. FTZ 136 keeps us well informed and serves as a liaison between our company and CBP. When there is an operational issue, FTZ 136 helps us resolve the problem."
